Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), the highest certification in cyber security and protection of bank card data given by SISA company to banking institutions with the best security standards and protection for their customers’ information, has been given to QIIB for the eighth year in a row.

Ramakrishnan Balagopal, SISA Vice President, presented the certificate to Mohammad Jamil Ahmad Hamad, the Chief Risk Officer at QIIB, during a ceremony held at the bank’s headquarters on Grand Hamad Street.

“QIIB’s award of the PCI-DSS certification for the eighth consecutive year reflects our continuous investment in cybersecurity solutions and adoption of the best-known technology in the banking sector,” said Hamad at this time. In terms of software, infrastructure, training, and attracting qualified experts, we are dedicated to achieving international standards in the field of cyber security.

“QIIB’s success in meeting the standards necessary to receive this certification is translated in the huge progress made by the bank in the field of digital transformation, as it continues to invest in its digital solutions at the same time as its increased investment in security and protection solutions for all of its operations and customers’ information, and it reflects the bank’s investment in combating cybercrime, hacking, and Cyber fraud,” he continued.

In order to protect customers’ data in all of its forms, Mr. Hamad also emphasized that “QIIB is working to strengthen cooperation with the relevant institutions and authorities. It will continue to rely on the best solutions adopted in the global market to maintain its prestigious position in the field of information security.”

After a thorough examination of the bank’s efforts and the exceptional level it had attained in the area of information security, SISA granted QIIB the PCI-DSS certification, which the bank’s chief risk officer thanked and appreciated.

“We congratulate QIIB on maintaining this outstanding level of customer data protection and on earning a PCI-DSS certification, which is one of the most significant globally recognized standards in data security,” Balagopal said on behalf of the company.
