More than 40,000 people sign up for Expo 2023 Doha’s volunteer program

For the Expo 2023 Doha Volunteer Program, which will run from October 2 to March 28, more than 40,000 people have already signed up.

The six-month horticulture event’s organizers announced the amazing amount of registrants via their official Instagram account. Remarkably, the registration period didn’t start until August 3.

The organizers are looking for 2,200 volunteers to help with this massive event, which will be the second-largest to be held in Qatar after the FIFA World Cup Qatar last year.

Applicants must go through a number of processes in order to become volunteers. Their applications will be examined initially, then an interview will take place. Volunteers will be informed of their selection and given clear job descriptions. Before taking part in the Expo 2023, they will undergo training, acquire certification, and outfits.

Each volunteer is expected to work 45 shifts total, or an average of two days per week, during Expo 2023. Depending on the allocated position, shifts often last six to eight hours. Numerous tasks are covered by the volunteers’ participation, including accreditation, ceremonies, tickets, events and cultural experiences, health and safety, language services, media and broadcast, participant operations, protocol services, visitor services and experiences, workforce, and participant operations.

Volunteers for Expo 2023 Doha must be at least 18 years old as of September 1 and be willing to commit seven to eight days each month for a period of six months.

Although candidates must currently reside in Qatar, the Expo organizers have accepted people from other countries as long as they are self-funded and prepared to move.

Notably, Expo 2023 Doha does not provide overseas volunteers with visas, travel plans, or lodging.

Luna from the Philippines, who intends to serve for the community, is one of the excited registrants. She expressed enthusiasm at the opportunity to get volunteer experience and participate in this big international event. Kristine, an Indian volunteer who worked at the World Cup the previous year, is another promising candidate. She finds a special feeling of joy in volunteering since it allows her to work with and communicate with people from various backgrounds.

Al Bidda Park’s enormous 1,700,000 square meter space will be the site of the half-year-long festival. Expo 2023 Doha, with the theme “Green Desert, Better Environment,” promises to be a spectacular occasion highlighting horticultural marvels and fostering environmental awareness.
