Mickey Guyton is ready to make a big impression at the ACM Awards.
PEOPLE can exclusively reveal that the country singer will work with Wells Fargo and Feeding America during next Wednesday’s awards show to help distribute 50 million meals to people experiencing food insecurity and raise awareness of the problem of hunger during the epidemic.
During the upcoming awards show, the country singer will work with Wells Fargo and Feeding America to provide 50 million meals to people who are food insecure, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal. This will assist in raising awareness of the pandemic’s impact on hunger.
In a news release, Lyndsay Cruz, executive director of ACM Lifting Lives, said, “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Wells Fargo for the 55th ACM Awards show this year, and honored to have Mickey Guyton spotlight and raise awareness on the ongoing efforts of improving communities across the country.” “Wells Fargo has provided a variety of resources for people to turn to during these trying times, and their generous donation to the ACM Lifting Lives COVID-19 Response Fund will assist those in the Country Music industry who are still in need of financial assistance.”
Food insecurity has become a major concern during the pandemic. According to a July estimate from Oxfam International, 12,000 people per day could die from COVID-19-related malnutrition by the end of the year, potentially more than from the disease itself.
Guyton, 37, will also introduce this new initiative while singing her song “What Are You Gonna Tell Her?”
“Can you even?” she exclaimed alongside the announcement. “I’m overjoyed.”
Guyton will share the stage with Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert, Luke Combs, Jimmie Allen, Luke Bryan, Kelsea Ballerini, Eric Church, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, and other artists.
Honorees include Lauren Alaina, Lily Aldridge, Clint and Lisa Hartman Black, Bobby Bones, Cam, Darius Rucker, and Runaway June.
The ACM Awards were originally set for April 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada, but were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Keith Urban will instead host the show, which will air on CBS on September 16th at 8 p.m. ET.
