HMC Ambulance Service has special plans in place for the first four days of Eid

For any potential emergencies that may arise over the Eid Al Fitr holidays, the ambulance service at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has established and put into place an effective plan. As people take long holidays, there are a lot of ambulances and paramedics on standby.

Ali Darwish, the Ambulance Service’s assistant executive director, stated that the plan would be carried out during the first four days of the Eid holidays. On standby across the nation are 115 ambulances, as well as critical care paramedics, bicycles, and golf carts.

“We aim to provide people with easy access to effective care during the holidays,” Darwish said in a statement to The Peninsula yesterday. “The special distribution of ambulances and paramedics will be implemented until the fourth day of Eid.”

He claims that more ambulances are stationed in areas where more people and traffic are expected to congregate, such as the beach areas in Sealine, Gahariya, Al Wakra, Semaisima, and the Corniche. At locations like the Souq Waqif, Aspire Zone, and Katara, bicycles and golf carts are provided for guests.

Since many people are anticipated to travel over the Eid holidays, the ambulance service is also present at the Hamad International Airport and the Abu Samra border, according to Darwish. The Ambulance Service’s three Lifeflights air ambulances transport more serious cases.

On the second day of Eid Al Fitr, the Ambulance Service received 260 calls; among them, 41 involved minor injuries, seven involved car accidents, and one person had to be transported to a hospital by air ambulance from the Sealine region, according to Darwish.

“Although there is a slight increase in the number of cases compared to the first day of Eid, all cases were minor and moderate; none of the cases were critical,” he said, noting that all cases had been transported to HMC hospitals for treatment.

Darwish also urged people to exercise caution and safety while visiting beaches, participating in sporting events, and engaging in other activities. He also urged parents to keep their kids safe while participating in holiday activities.

“We ask the public to keep safe while enjoying the Eid holidays; follow traffic rules and give way to ambulances on the roads,” the man said.

Three children were seen at the Paediatric Emergency Department at Sidra Medicine yesterday due to various medical and trauma emergencies, and the main paediatric emergency center in Al Sadd received 808 cases yesterday. Comparing the number to the first day of Eid, a decline was evident.

Every emergency and inpatient service provided by HMC’s network of hospitals is available round-the-clock, every day of the week.
