By June 2023’s end, Oman’s inflation rate will be 0.69 percent

According to data from the National Center for Statistics and Information in Oman, the annual inflation rate in the Sultanate of Oman would be 0.69 percent by the end of June 2023.

The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 2.18 percent, driving up the prices of most of the group’s components, including milk, cheese, and eggs by 9.78 percent, fish and seafood by 5.19 percent, oils and fats by 4.81 percent, fruits by 4.3 percent, other foodstuffs by 3.91 percent, bread and cereals by 2.34 percent, and non-alcoholic beverages by 2.34 percent. These increases were driven by increases in most of the major groups that make up the consumer price index.

Restaurants and hotels saw a 3.68 percent increase in price, furniture, fixtures, and household equipment saw a 2.93 percent increase, miscellaneous goods and services saw a 2.33 percent increase, tobacco saw a 2.11 percent increase, culture and entertainment saw a 1.73 percent increase, health saw a 1.28 percent increase, clothes and shoes saw a 0.56 percent increase, education saw a 0.05 percent increase, and housing, water, electricity, gas, and other types of fuel saw a 0.02 percent

The price of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 0.97 percent, tobacco increased by 0.35 percent, culture and entertainment increased by 0.28 percent, miscellaneous goods and services increased by 0.23 percent, and furniture, household equipment, and household maintenance decreased by 0.03 percent, while the price of transportation decreased by 0.1 percent, communications decreased by 0.05 percent, and restaurant prices increased by 0.03 percent.
