When his contract expires in 2024, Mbappe informs PSG that he will leave

The possibility of Kylian Mbappe leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer along with Lionel Messi was raised after he informed the club on Monday that he would not be exercising his option to extend his contract until 2025.

The 24-year-old France striker’s current contract, which has a one-year extension option, expires at the conclusion of the upcoming campaign.

The French champions could now sell him this summer rather than miss out on a windfall for one of the finest players in the world because if he does not sign, they run the chance of losing him for nothing in a year.

After losing Messi to Inter Miami, Mbappe’s decision to forego his contract was revealed in a letter to the club and reported by the French sports newspaper L’Equipe. This is another setback for PSG.

Mbappe was given until July 31, 2023, to make a decision.

A little over a year has passed since Mbappe defied Real Madrid by signing a surprise contract extension to stay at the Parc des Princes.

Real would once more be the main candidate for him.

After being questioned late on Monday night, Mbappe’s group did not immediately answer.

When his current contract expires in the summer of 2024, the striker’s free transfer would be disastrous for PSG.

A transfer would cost the club millions of euros in addition to the gap it would leave in the team.

Before what is expected to be a turbulent summer in the French capital, the future of fellow Brazilian star forward Neymar, who is under contract until 2025, also seems uncertain.
