At the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC), the State of Qatar will host the 17th Annual Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association (GPCA) Forum with the topic “Mobilizing Chemistry for Impactful Transformation”.

The conference, which is slated for December 5-7, will bring together regional and international chemical executives to talk about everything from portfolio transformation to sustainability.

According to a release from GPCA, this year’s edition offers a broad range of options, an enlarged program, and a number of new activities that are held for the first time.

The opening of the Solution Xchange, an interactive platform created to exchange knowledge and offer technical solutions and perspectives about the challenges and answers to a variety of future-related topics, will be offered to participants.

In addition to the sustainability exhibition, which will highlight the accomplishments and goals of the petrochemical sector on its path to sustainability, participants will also learn about the history of the Gulf chemical industry through a special event. The dates of December 5-7 will also see the second GPCA Youth Forum.

On Day 1, the fifth GPCA Legacy Award (Al-Rowad) will be presented to a deserving chemical industry pioneer who has made a significant contribution to the development of the sector in the Arabian Gulf.

Dr. Abdel Wahhab Al Sadoun, the secretary-general of the GPCA, emphasized the role of the chemical industry in guiding the world’s transition to a more sustainable future and a wider use of clean energy. He also emphasized the urgent need for innovation, cooperation, and youth empowerment, particularly given that the industry is in charge of meeting the needs of the expanding population despite many challenges.

Al Sadoun expressed his happiness that the 17th Annual GPCA Forum was held in Doha for the first time, in the presence of more than 2,000 experts and leaders in the chemical industry who came to discuss the future of the chemical industry and its position on the global stage. He urged all industry leaders and stakeholders to take advantage of this opportunity to discuss the future of the chemical industry and its position on the global stage.

The Arabian Gulf downstream hydrocarbon industry is represented by the GPCA, which was founded in 2006. It represents the shared interests of more than 250 member businesses in the chemical and related industries, who together produce more than 95% of the chemicals used in the Arabian Gulf.

With annual output over $108 billion, the sector is the second-largest manufacturer in the area.
