Qatar’s Doha: The Department of Meteorology’s most recent forecast predicts that the inshore weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy until 6:00 pm on Friday, with a risk of scattered showers and potential thunderstorms.
Additionally, there can be times when dust is blown in some places, which reduces horizontal visibility.
The Department issues a warning for thundery rain and strong winds, which could make visibility conditions worse.
With gusts ranging from 08 to 18 knots, the inshore wind is anticipated to begin as variable before primarily shifting to a northeasterly to southeasterly direction. However, when thundery rain occurs, the wind may become stronger and pick up speed, sometimes even reaching 30 knots.
Offshore, the wind will mostly blow in the northeastern to northwestern direction at 10 to 20 knots of speed. Wind gusts of up to 35 knots are possible during thundery downpour.
The expected visibility ranges from 4 to 8 kilometers, but thundery rain may cause it to drop considerably to 2 kilometers or less, creating low visibility conditions.
Inshore waters will have waves that range in height from 2 to 4 feet, with sporadic rises to 5 feet.
The sea condition offshore will be between 3 and 6 feet, but during thundery showers, it could rise as high as 12 feet.
