Gregory Vignal believes that former Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard will succeed when he returns to management with Paris Saint-Germain, which is being linked to the legendary Liverpool player.
After being fired by Aston Villa in October, the former Reds captain is currently unemployed. Before being fired and being replaced by Unai Emery, the 42-year-old manager of the Premier League club had been in charge for 11 months.
Prior to this, Gerrard led Rangers for more than three years. The Liverpool legend won the league championship for the Glasgow club in 2021 while he was living in Scotland, breaking Celtic’s run of nine straight victories in the top division.
Now that PSG are allegedly “interested” in hiring Gerrard as their next manager, a report in the Scottish Daily Express suggests that Gerrard may soon return to management.
The French club’s current manager, Christophe Galtier, is reportedly under pressure and may be fired. As a result, rumors about potential replacements have been circulating. According to the Scottish report, the Paris club hierarchy, who are “increasingly frustrated” with Galtier, has discussed Gerrard.
Additionally, Vignal, a former Rangers defender, believes Gerrard would fit in well with the French superpowers. I’m fairly sure Steven is ready to crack on again,” he said in an exclusive interview with the Scottish Daily Express. He has the mental fortitude, in my opinion, to begin a new endeavor. Pourquoi pas Paris Saint-Germain? They have been discussing him.
“I have no doubt that he will soon find a good job, whether it be abroad or in the Premier League. It was wonderful to be a part of the team with Steven and Michael Beale because I worked with the first team as well as the youths when I was at Rangers.
“Michael has been so busy since he returned that I haven’t had a chance to have a lengthy conversation with him. We spoke over Christmas, and I naturally wished him luck.”
