A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Qatar and the Republic of Serbia as part of their joint strategic cooperation to advance their cooperation in the area of information and communication technologies (ICT). Qatar was represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
On the sidelines of the Qatar Economic Forum 2023, which is organised by Qatar in collaboration with Bloomberg, the MoU was signed by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Qatar, H E Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, and his counterpart, the Minister of Information and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia, H E Mihailo Jovanovic.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to advance areas of cooperation between the two nations and exchange best practises and experiences in fields like digital transformation, e-government, R&D, investment in small and medium-sized businesses, innovation, and activating electronic transactions, as well as others connected to the communications and information technology sectors.
According to H E Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, “The MoU supports the relations between the two countries and demonstrates their commitment to the advancement of the communications and information technology sectors, and will pave the way for innovation, cooperation, and progress, and contribute to a brighter and interconnected future.”
“The Governments of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Serbia are working to establish a new era of cooperation, and this MoU represents a decisive step forward in our joint commitment to use the full potential of the communications and information technology sectors to advance technological development and build a technologically advanced society,” he continued.
For his part, Minister H E Jovanovic emphasised the significance of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed yesterday in fostering bilateral ties between the two friendly nations in the communications and information technology sectors. He also emphasised the necessity of fortifying partnerships with other nations in this crucial area, as global cooperation and coordination are essential for achieving sustainability and growth.
He emphasised that Qatar is now playing a significant role as an important business centre in the Middle East and the rest of the globe by citing the prestigious organisation of the Qatar business Forum in its third edition.
The Qatar Economic Forum 2023 is a chance for senior government officials from around the world and the region, as well as executive directors of significant international businesses and organisations, to discuss the most pressing economic issues and potential investment possibilities.
