Queen Camilla of Britain attends Wimbledon

1 min read

Wednesday saw Queen Camilla attend the Grand Slam tennis competition, one week after Princess Kate visited Centre Court at Wimbledon by sitting in the Royal Box.

At the All England Club, where the players on the court wear all white, the queen, the wife of King Charles III, was dressed in a white outfit.

The young people who race across the court chasing errant balls when a point is over or a serve goes wrong were waiting for Camilla when she arrived at the club.

Reigning champion Elena Rybakina faced Ons Jabeur in the quarterfinals in the opening match on Centre Court, which was a rematch of the women’s final from the previous year. Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, was scheduled to play Holger Rune in the following match for a place in the semifinals.

On Day 2 of the competition, Kate, the Princess of Wales, sat in the Royal Box. David Beckham and injured members of the England national soccer team who will miss the Women’s World Cup are among the other people who will sit in the section that is primarily designated for royalty and famous people.

But on Wednesday, Queen Camilla wasn’t the only royal in the Royal Box. Also planned to attend was Prince Albert II of Monaco.

The late Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III are the parents of Prince Albert.
