Team Qatar increased their medal total at the 15th Arab Games – Algeria 2023 in Algiers yesterday by winning bronze medals in the sports of table tennis and fencing.
The bronze medal won by the national table tennis team, which included Ahmed Khalil, Mohammed Abdulwahab, Fahad Al Mughni, Ahmed Al Awlaqi, and Abdullah Abdulwahab, put an end to their successful run at the multisport gala.

The fencing team kept up its winning streak despite placing third in the men’s team epee competition. Ali Al Athba, Abdullah Khalifa, and Khalid Alyafi worked together on Tuesday to give Qatar the gold medal in the men’s team foil competition.
In the same competition earlier this week, Khalifa took home bronze, while Al Athba also won solo foil gold.
The total number of medals won by Qatar now stands at 17, including six gold, two silver, and nine bronze.
Also yesterday, the men’s handball team from Qatar won the exciting semifinal match against Iraq 24-23 to go to the final.
