In order to invite travelers who currently require a visa to visit Qatar to experience the nation’s renowned warm Arabian hospitality and diverse tourist offerings, Qatar Tourism has relaunched the Hayya Platform.

With immediate effect, the launch of the well-known Hayya Platform and its application via smartphones, which permitted the entry of more than a million visitors during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament, will serve as the sole portal for all tourist and business visas to Qatar. For visitors, GCC residents, and guests traveling with GCC citizens (who are issued a “Authorisation Electronic Travel” permit), this will streamline the visa application process.

The most recent development reflects Qatar’s desire to keep investing in the tourism industry, which is a key economic pillar and reflects a longer-term strategic goal to position Qatar as the region’s top travel destination.

Visitors to Doha, the Arab Tourism Capital of 2023, who need a visa to enter Qatar can apply through the Hayya Platform at www.hayya.qa or through the app on their smartphones.

Additionally, since Hayya will be compatible with e-gate entry at Hamad International Airport, Hayya holders will experience seamless travel and connectivity into Qatar. The Hayya platform will offer a pre-registration option for quicker vehicle entry for those entering Qatar by land at the Abu Samra border, making the beginning of a weekend getaway or longer stay in Qatar even easier and more pleasant.

The Hayya Platform gives GCC nationals the option to apply for a companion entry permit. A visitor’s stay can be enhanced by additional services offered by the Hayya Platform, such as maps, transportation choices, deals, and news.

HE Akbar Al Baker, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Chief Executive of the Qatar Airways Group, commented on the most recent initiative.

“By 2030, Qatar’s national tourism strategy hopes to host more than six million tourists annually. With more than 95 nationalities receiving visas on arrival, Qatar is already regarded as the Middle East’s most open nation and the eighth most open country overall. We are happy that the most recent developments will strengthen Qatar’s position as a top travel destination and give more tourists the chance to enjoy the nation’s genuinely distinctive tourist attractions.

Saeed Ali Al Kuwari, the Hayya Platform’s CEO, offered the following statement:

“The re-launch of the Haya Platform in its new form today is an expansion of the strategic vision for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 legacy that the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy had previously developed. The launch serves as a vehicle for ensuring that the World Cup’s legacy is properly upheld. Before, fans from all over the world could enter Qatar to watch their favorite teams play during the biggest football tournament in the world with the Hayya card. Currently, the Hayya Platform serves as the foundation upon which we are continuing to grow, inviting travelers from all over the world to come to our nation and take in its authenticity, history, culture, hospitality, natural beauty, and much more.

In the first three months of this year, Qatar continued to welcome record-breaking numbers of tourists as a result of the unprecedented success of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. During the world’s largest sporting event late last year, foreign visitors had the chance to directly experience the nation’s genuine culture, abundance of natural beauty, and top-notch hospitality and leisure facilities, as well as watch it from billions of other locations around the world.

Visitors to Qatar will have access to the country’s newly developed hospitality and leisure industry, which includes beaches and resorts like West Bay Beach, which has been built in the middle of the city, and Fuwairit Kite Beach, with its pristine shores and calm waters. Families can also take advantage of upscale dining and shopping establishments like Printemps and Place Vendôme, world-class museums like the National Museum of Qatar and the recently reopened Museum of Islamic Art, and all of this while choosing their hotel from a collection of recently opened, leading-edge hotels from around the world and Qatar, like The Ned Doha, Raffles and Fairmont Doha, and The Outpost at Al Barari.
