Chiamaka Nnadozie of the Super Falcons was selected Player of the Match for her outstanding performance against Canada.

Nnadozie, the team captain and a standout performer, led the Nigerian women’s team to a 0-0 tie with Canada on Friday in Melbourne.

She was essential to the team’s goalless draw with Canada in their Group B opening match of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Nnadozie delivered a tremendous performance, and she capped it off by stopping Christine Sinclair’s 40-year-old penalty kick for Canada.

In the third encounter between the Olympic winners Canada and the Super Falcons at the senior Women’s World Cup, the 22-year-old’s performance earned the Nigerian team a point.

The Falcons haven’t lost to Canada yet after three games. In its three games, the Nigerian squad had defeated Canada and won one, drawing the other two.
