Bandaid, Paris Jackson’s new single, marks her musical comeback.
The late Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe’s daughter was described as having a “harder” sound than her previously released singles just you and lighthouse in an interview with People Magazine on Friday, February 24, 2023.
The first two singles are definitely cohesive because I used the same [sound] mixer, but this one is more influenced by bands like the Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, and Interpol, she said.
“It’s a little louder, and it’s more enjoyable. But when it comes to songwriting, I continue to use the same acoustic folk approach that I always use.
The 24-year-old admitted that there is “no specific time” when it comes to writing songs because she writes whenever inspiration strikes.
She said, “Sometimes it’s late at night, sometimes it’s in the middle of the day. My method is simple: I start with a decent progression that isn’t too similar to others I’ve used, and then I hum until I find a catchy melody. The lyrics then just sort of appear.
Jackson also made a suggestion that a full album would be released soon.
She said, “That’s the aim. “I already have enough [songs] recorded and ready to go to fill an album. I have no idea how many songs I’ve written or how many there are in total. dozens, possibly
Following her split from former Soundflowers bandmate Gabriel Glenn in 2020, the singer started out on her solo musical journey. According to the outlet, she signed her first record deal that year and released her debut album, wilted, which was about heartbreak and pain.
Three years after completing the album, the performer switched from playing “quiet, acoustic shows” to “tour[ing] with bigger bands and playing for bigger audiences” in early 2022. She also released her surprise EP, the lost.
