In the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek, the Amir, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and President of the Kyrgyz Republic, HE Sadyr Japarov, held a formal meeting on Wednesday.
HE President of the Kyrgyz Republic welcomed HH the Amir and the accompanying entourage at the beginning of the meeting and wished them a happy stay.
HE The Kyrgyz President emphasized the significance of His Highness’s visit, particularly as HH the Amir is the first Arab head of state to visit the Kyrgyz Republic on an official basis. He expressed the hope that the visit will encourage greater cooperation between the two nations in a variety of areas. Additionally, he reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s desire to strengthen its bilateral relationship with Qatar.
For his part, HH the Amir thanked HE the Kyrgyz President for the gracious hospitality and warm welcome, emphasized the significance of the visit, which falls on the 25th anniversary of the beginning of bilateral relations between the two nations, and expressed hope that it would help advance cooperation between the two nations in a variety of fields in a way that served the goals and interests of the two friendly nations.
The most significant regional and global issues and developments of shared concern were also discussed during the session, along with ways to improve and develop bilateral relations between the two countries in a variety of fields, particularly in the areas of economy, finance, customs, military cooperation, and legal cooperation.
Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Ministers of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, Minister of Culture HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, and several senior officials from the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir were present during the official talks session.
