A second season of one of the most popular South Korean TV shows will be released, according to a June 11 Netflix announcement.
Season two of Squid Games will begin filming in 2023 and premiere on Netflix in 2024, according to creator Hwang Dong-hyuk.
According to CNN, Netflix has stated that “Squid Game” has grown to be the most popular series they have ever released. The show’s creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, wrote in a letter that the first season of “Squid Game” took 12 years to make, but it only took 12 days for it to become the most watched series of all time.
Additionally, according to Netflix, this show became the first Korean television program to ever top the American ratings, attracting 1.65 billion hours of viewing in the first 28 days after its debut.
After receiving so much support, demand, and attention during season 1, Hwang claimed he was forced to produce season 2.
With its newcomers, Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-honn, and Yang Dong-geun, the second season is waiting for its viewers. Actors Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo all make a return.
