The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), represented by the National Cyber Excellence Department, launched an awareness campaign aimed at 30 schools with 3,000 students, teachers, and parents in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s Department of E-learning and Digital Solutions.

The campaign, which targets students in Qatar’s public schools, is regarded as unique in the field of cybersecurity.

Through this campaign, NCSA hopes to better the values of digital citizenship by educating students about cyber risks, increasing their level of awareness, and highlighting the most notable practices that protect the educational sector and the student community from cyber risks.

In this regard, the National Cyber Security Agency’s Dalal Al Aqeedi, the manager of the National Cyber Excellence Department, stated: “This project fits within the agency’s framework to enhance cyber awareness and its vision to build a secure cyber society where all its segments are aware of the challenges that accompany the rapid technological revolution.

The agency firmly believes that improving local community cybersecurity is the cornerstone of cooperation between educational and security entities to fortify cyber awareness ties and safeguard students of all ages from online threats.

The Cyber Educational Curricula project, which is the first of its kind in the region in terms of targeting students in the school environment and is tailored to each age group with content commensurate with their level of awareness, was launched as a result of Al Aqeedi’s partnership with the Ministry of Education, he continued. To ensure the spread of cyber awareness throughout the entire educational community, parallel education and education of the elderly are also important.

She emphasized that the curricula for cyber-education are presented in an easy-to-follow and enjoyable manner and include a variety of educational tools, such as visual products, awareness videos, posters, and infographics, in addition to a teacher and parent guidebook and a guidebook for teachers.’

Al Aqeedi also added that the groundbreaking “Cyber Eco” initiative, which promotes cybersecurity awareness, was launched in coordination with the “Educational Cybersecurity Curricula” project.

Through extracurricular activities conducted within the context of the classroom, such as field trips to public and private schools, workshops, and competitions, the initiative seeks to increase student awareness of the principles and values of cyber safety.

The National Cyber Security Agency launched a website that includes videos, animations, and brochures available to all students and whoever wants to gain such knowledge as a complement to the cybersecurity curricula project.

Al Muthanna Bin Haritha Model School, Hauteen Model School, Saad bin Mowath School, Saud bin Abdulrahman Model School, Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani Model School, Moza Bint Mohammed School, Albayan School, Omama Bint Hamza School, Al Shifaa School, and Al Khansa School are the schools where the awareness campaign was launched.
