Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has granted a dispensation exempting QU Health graduates from the requirement that they complete post-graduation experience in order to obtain their license.
The judgment waives the necessity for experience to get a license for graduates of the colleges of pharmacy, nursing, and health sciences.
Each and every health facility in the public, semi-public, and private sectors is affected by this decision. The Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) of MoPH was given extensive information that supported the judgment, proving that the programs in question had completed stringent quality checks and received academic accreditation from respected organizations.
Additionally, it demonstrates forcefully that QU Health colleges continuously turn forth top-notch graduates who are capable of providing excellent and safe healthcare services to the Qatari community, companies, and students.
Prof. Asma Al Thani, vice president for health and medical sciences at Qatar University, offered the following statement in response to this significant decision: “We are proud of this milestone; this decision is a testament to the high quality of education in our health and medical professions at Qatar University; it affirms the competencies of our graduates. This success strengthens our dedication to provide the healthcare sector with qualified graduates and increases the career options for our graduates.
“The recent decision granted to QU Health graduates is a testament to the rigorous clinical education they receive during their internships,” stated Dr. Medhat Askar, QU Associate Vice President for Clinical Affairs. Their abilities are shaped by these experiences, which also improve their capacity to adhere to the greatest standards of practice. We are pleased with the accomplishments of our students and sure that they will have a good influence on healthcare delivery.
Haya Abu Hijleh, a graduate of the Human Nutrition program at the College of Health Sciences at Qatar University, spoke from the perspective of students about the effects of this decision, saying: “This decision opens up doors of opportunity for us, ensuring that we can directly enter the workforce and make a meaningful impact. It boosts our self-assurance as aspiring health professionals and highlights the importance of our studies.
In order for graduates to use their right to full-time employment and take advantage of the advantages that come with being health professionals, QU Health wants to make sure that they are adequately informed about the exemption from the experience requirement.
