Istanbul outlaws smoking marijuana in public as Turkey reduces the risk of forest fires

The governor of Istanbul has declared a temporary ban on smoking shisha in public areas throughout the city, including parks and beaches.

Governor Davüt Gul claims that the choice is being carried out as a preventative measure to lessen the likelihood of forest fires and other potential threats. It also tries to protect the city’s natural surroundings.

The governor announced in a tweet that “smoking shishas will be strictly prohibited in various locations, including beaches, forests, recreational areas, and parks throughout Istanbul.”

He noted that the restriction will not apply to authorized shisha lounges operating outside of the city’s specified districts.

The governorate seeks to prevent the growth of harmful environmental impacts and maintain the calm of public areas by outlawing the use of shisha in locations like beaches and forests.
