The governor of Istanbul has declared a temporary ban on smoking shisha in public areas throughout the city, including parks and beaches.
Governor Davüt Gul claims that the choice is being carried out as a preventative measure to lessen the likelihood of forest fires and other potential threats. It also tries to protect the city’s natural surroundings.
The governor announced in a tweet that “smoking shishas will be strictly prohibited in various locations, including beaches, forests, recreational areas, and parks throughout Istanbul.”
