First big panda twins are welcomed in South Korea

The first giant panda twins to be born in the nation were revealed by a South Korean zoo, sparking a flurry of enthusiasm online.

The zoo disclosed in a video uploaded to its YouTube page that the female twins were born on Friday at the Everland amusement park outside of Seoul.

The mother, Ai Bao, can be seen in the footage, in labor and rolling around in her cage before giving birth to two cuddly panda puppies on Tuesday.

According to the zoo, the first twin weighed 180 grams and the second twin 140 grams.

According to a statement from the zoo, “The mother and the twin pandas are in good health.”

“Ai Bao is taking good care of her cubs and applying what she learned from Fu Bao,”

The twins’ older sister Fu Bao, who was born in July 2020, is also the first giant panda to be naturally bred in South Korea.

Since it was posted, the twins’ birth video on YouTube has received 640,000 views, with fans marveling over the cubs’ birth.

“Hello, world, my darling babies! Congratulations to the Bao family and many thanks to the grandpas and the entire crew that looked after them, one viewer remarked.

Another person said, “I can’t stop crying because I’m so proud of Ai Bao! Congratulations, Ai Bao.

As a state gift from the Chinese President Xi Jinping, Ai Bao and Le Bao, the father, arrived in South Korea in 2016.

China has used “panda diplomacy” for a long time, giving the creatures as gifts to many nations, frequently to advance its own foreign policy objectives.

Beijing exclusively lends pandas to international zoos, and those zoos often have to return any progeny to Beijing within a few years after the birth of the animal in order to participate in the nation’s breeding program.
