Doha Expo 2023 volunteer registration will begin in two weeks

According to a statement made by a high-ranking official, volunteer registration for Expo 2023 Doha, the second-largest event to be hosted by Qatar, is scheduled to begin in a fortnight.

The Peninsula quoted the secretary general of Expo 2023 Doha, Engr. Mohammed Mohammed Ali Al Khouri, as saying that they hope to sign up between 3,000 and 4,000 volunteers for the six-month event, which would start in October and go until March 2024.

Al Khouri emphasized that registration would start in the next two weeks, followed by a comprehensive review of all applications.

Through the event’s official website and social media channels, the application process will officially be announced.

Expo 2023 Doha will promote creative horticultural methods with an emphasis on climate, water, and soil sustainability as the first horticultural show to be hosted in a desert environment. Desertification has emerged as a critical global concern with one-third of the world’s land surface at risk and an additional 12 million hectares of arid area emerging each year.

Expo 2023 Doha will cover an enormous 1,700,000 square meters inside Al Bidda Park and be split into three separate zones where volunteers will be placed.

The international area, which occupies over 700,000 square meters and is situated in the park’s northern section, will act as both the entrance to the expo and the primary location for international gardens, exhibitions, and activities. The family area, which will be located in the middle of the park and cover an estimated 500,000 square meters, will serve as the hub for family-friendly events, meetings, and outdoor activities. The cultural area, which has a space of around 500,000 square meters and is situated in the southern zone, will host exhibitions and cultural and traditional activities.

Doha’s Expo 2023 is a significant turning point in the forward progress described in “Qatar National Vision 2030.” the four development pillars of economic, social, human, and environmental sustainability are highlighted.

The six-month spectacle known as Expo 2023 Doha is expected to draw an amazing three million visitors from all over the world and will serve as a showcase for Qatar’s dedication to sustainability and innovation.
