Some Nigerian celebrities have welcomed and sent their best wishes to Nollywood actress Funke Akindele following her confirmation as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) deputy governorship candidate in Lagos State for the 2023 general elections.
Tuesday, Akindele revealed that she is Olajide Adediran, a.k.a. Jandor, the PDP candidate for governor of Lagos State, in a video posted on her Instagram profile.
“I am well aware of the toll that this assignment will take on my flourishing career, which I now have to put on hold.
The personal sacrifice is significant. I’ve made up my mind that no sacrifice is too great to be made in order to complete the critical mission to save our people and our beloved state.
“I saw it as a chance to contribute to the liberation and betterment of our people, especially the underprivileged youth, women, and girl children.
In addition to taking on this enormous duty, she remarked, “My decision is to work relentlessly and support Jandor’s ardent desire to see our dear Lagos live up to its full potential.”
Several Nollywood stars applauded and honored Akindele in the comments section of her post.
