As they come to an end in August, some of Qatar’s well-known exhibitions are going to close.
The Curious Desert by Olafur Eliasson, I Am The Traveler And Also The Road, Beirut and the Golden Sixties, and Mosques in Qatar: Then and Now are a few of these.
For both Qatar residents and non-residents, the majority of the exhibitions are free. You can reserve tickets for the exhibits on the Qatar Museums website.
Olafur Eliasson’s outdoor installation in Al Thakira Mangrove will remain up until October, and the artist’s indoor piece at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) will be on display through August 15. Olafur Eliasson’s first solo show in the Gulf region is the two-part exhibition. Both nationals and foreign visitors are welcome to the exhibition.
Until this weekend, August 5, the exhibit Beirut and The Golden Sixties: A Manifesto of Fragility is on display. The exhibition, on display at the Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art, features artworks including paintings, sculptures, multimedia pieces, and archive materials that illustrate the tumultuous period in Beirut’s Modernism’s history. Both nationals and foreign visitors are welcome to the exhibition.
The Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art is also featuring I Am The Traveler And Also The Road through August 5. Eleven photographers from the WANA region are represented by their works in it. Both nationals and foreign visitors are welcome to the exhibition.
Through a photographic tour, the exhibition Mosques in Qatar: Then and Now will demonstrate visitors “that, despite architectural changes, the mosque remains as important a part of the community as it ever has been.” The exhibition will be on display at the MIA until August 12, 2023. Adult foreign visitors must pay QAR 50 to enter the exhibition; entry is free for citizens of the nation.
