The Ooredoo Group is pleased to announce that Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari has been named the “Female Executive of the Year.” At the most recent International Stevie Awards for Women in Business 2022, there were more than 2,500 employees.

The world’s most prestigious business honors for female CEOs, employees, and the companies they lead are the Stevie Awards for Women in Business. The award given to Al Kuwari recognizes her excellent achievements, good and long-lasting effects on Ooredoo, effective and inspirational leadership, and success as a role model for other women in the Middle East and the industry.

“We are very proud of Fatima for this well-deserved recognition by such an esteemed organization,” said Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo, managing director and group chief executive officer such a global organization as the Stevies. Fatima is a perfect example of our corporate culture, which places the employee at the center of our success with a strong emphasis on equality and diversity. We have followed Fatima through her incredible journey at Ooredoo over the years and are sincerely happy for her to receive this honor. She has been instrumental in defining the company’s voice in the market.

A true trailblazer, Fatima’s career accomplishments include being the first woman to be elected to the Board of Directors of Ooredoo Kuwait and becoming the first female chairperson of one of Ooredoo’s companies, Ooredoo Maldives, leading the first board in the Ooredoo Group to be equally representative of men and women.

“I am truly honored to receive this award and pay tribute to my country and my company for providing me with such a wonderful platform through which I am able to do what I love,” Fatima stated in response. I am motivated by Qatar’s female leaders and their initiatives to make their nation modern and supportive of women in all spheres of life. Qatari women are currently holding high-level positions across many sectors and industries thanks to our wise leadership under H H the Amir of Qatar and Qatar’s National Vision 2030, supported by a strong system that gives women in the workplace equal opportunity to men.

“I am thankful for the support I have received from our forward-thinking Ooredoo leadership throughout my career. I have always been encouraged, acknowledged, and compensated solely on the basis of my talent, even if technology can be perceived as a more male-dominated sector. In my role as group chief human resources officer, I am committed to sustaining this tradition and improving our workplace.
