At the 73rd FIFA Congress, FIFA President honors Qatar for hosting the best World Cup in history

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which took place in November and December of last year and was one of the best World Cups ever, received high plaudits for Qatar’s amazing achievement in arranging the event.

This occurred at the 73rd FIFA Congress in Kigali, Rwanda, in the presence of Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, Paul Kagame, and delegates from football federations.

President Kagame commended Qatar on their tremendous performance at the World Cup, which he called the best, during his opening remarks before the FIFA Congress. He congratulated FIFA and Qatar on hosting a successful World Cup by all measures, stating that it was one of the best World Cups ever and that people were proud of what Qatar had accomplished. He added that Qatar deserves all respect for what it had given to the sport and the world during that historic hosting.

For his part, FIFA President Gianni Infantino declared in his speech that the World Cup in Qatar was the best one ever, highlighting that it was one of the most successful editions in terms of the public, the technical aspects, and the organizational aspects. He also noted that FIFA and Qatar had kept their promise prior to the tournament.

More than three million fans attended the tournament in the magnificent stadiums that served as the competition sites, according to Infantino, who claimed that the previous World Cup was watched by more than five billion people worldwide.

The FIFA President continued, remarking that there were people who did not believe and questioned what was said, that they had pledged to deliver an amazing and unique edition of the World Cup in Qatar. Given the immaculate venues, first-rate infrastructure, and unhindered football atmosphere, it was undoubtedly the most successful and greatest edition. He said, “Thank you, Qatar.

Alejandro Dominguez, the chairman of the FIFA Finance Committee, and other FIFA officials praised the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, noting that it not only stood out on the field but also fared remarkably well financially, making it the World Cup with the highest financial returns.

He noted that the $7.6 billion in financial revenue generated between 2019 and 2022 was a historic high. He claimed that the World Cup in Qatar was responsible for this.
