At a fan event on Saturday, Netflix provided viewers sneak peeks at various forthcoming and planned programs, including “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” “One Piece,” and the third season of “Bridgerton.”
Talented individuals including Kevin Hart, Chris Hemsworth, Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Boyega, and Gal Gadot took part in the event, dubbed “Tudum,” which was live-streamed from So Paulo, Brazil.
A third “Extraction” film, Linda Hamilton joining the cast of “Stranger Things” season 5, and more of the “Squid Game” season 2 cast, including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-guen, were also revealed by the streaming service. They will join the returning cast members Gong Yoo, Wi Ha-jun, Lee Byung-Hun, and Lee Jung-jae.
The fourth season of “Emily in Paris,” which Lily Collins hinted may take her ex-pat to Rome, also got a little tease.
One of the most widely awaited shows in the group is “Avatar: The Last Airbender” in live action. Gordon Cormier plays Aang, Kiawentiio plays Katara, Ian Ousley plays Sokka, and Dallas Liu plays Zuko. These actors made their first appearances in their character garb.
Another popular series was “One Piece,” a live-action pirate adventure based on the well-known manga that is finished and scheduled to debut on August 31.
However, given the ongoing Hollywood Writers’ Strike and the lingering question of whether actors will join the picket lines after their SAG-AFTRA contracts expire on June 30, many have yet to receive firm release dates.
The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (or AMPTP), the bargaining arm negotiating with the main guilds on topics like residuals, minimum pay, and the usage of artificial intelligence, is one of the studios that Netflix is represented by.
