2022 The entire World Cup-winning Argentina team and staff will receive 35 golden iPhone 14s thanks to the payment made by FIFA’s Best Player Lionel Messi.
In order to thank his teammates and the coaching staff for their success at the World Cup in Qatar 2022, the captain of Argentina and Paris Saint-Germain forward is said to have partnered with iDesign Gold.
The CEO of iDesign Gold, Ben Lyons, shared a photo on Instagram with Messi and wrote: “It was an honor to deliver 35 gold iPhone 14 to @leomessi for his team mates & staff as a gift for winning the world cup final.”
The following statement was made by iDesign Gold in another post displaying the iPhones: “35 gold iPhone 14 created for the Argentina squad and staff & delivered to @leomessi.”
The 24-carat gold-plated iPhones, which reportedly cost $175,000, are engraved with each player’s name, jersey number, and the Argentine Football Association (AFA) logo.
In a previous interview, the CEO of iDesign Gold stated: “Lionel is not only the Goat, but he’s also one of iDesign Gold’s most devoted customers and contacted us a few months after the World Cup final. He claimed he didn’t want the customary watch gift and instead wanted something special for all the players and staff to celebrate the incredible victory. He embraced the idea when I suggested giving them gold iPhones with their names engraved on them.
