Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu, the first elected deputy governor of Lagos State, has attributed Nigeria’s troubles to God’s wrath, deceit, wickedness against one another, and corruption.
Ojikutu claimed that Nigeria had chosen to follow wrong doctrine, and that this had angered God. He continued, “And we are worshipping too many deities that are not for God.”
In a statement made accessible to journalists in Lagos on Thursday, the former deputy governor added that Nigerians are cruel to their neighbors.
She said, “We are nasty to one another.
“People owe you money; they have the cash, but they won’t pay. Although it has the funds to pay its employees, the government refuses to do so, and the workers protest that they shouldn’t steal.
“In order to match the status of those who have stolen from the treasury, individuals are employing body parts in money ceremonies.
The improper priorities are ours. We have abandoned our morals and gone to the dog. We ought to humbly turn to God and beg for mercy. God would have mercy on Nigeria and grant us rulers who won’t punish us if people turn to Him in prayer, she continued.
Ojikutu continued, “The country has been sold,” and he added, “What should have been used as a provision for us has been used as a deal.”
She pointed out that nearly all Nigerians have been made criminals by government legislation.
Because of the government’s creation of unbreakable laws, the only option available to Nigerians today is to break the law.
“When people are struggling, they will breach the law. Therefore, in an effort to live, people seek out shortcuts, breaking the law in the process.
“Consider those who falsify their certifications or who circumvent power meters. When you read the Bible and consider what is happening in Nigeria, it becomes clear that God is upset with this nation. God is angry and offering us a chance to repent, but we are consistently missing that opportunity, therefore everyone needs to pray,” she said.
The former deputy governor criticized the increase in gas prices and asserted that there was no need for it because there was enough money to revive the economy of the country.
This increase in the price of gasoline at the pump shouldn’t be happening, she added. A small group of people control enough money to save this country. To alter the course of history, all it takes is one brave, patriotic leader.
“Our commonwealth, in the hands of the few, can be ploughed into the economy to revive it, create jobs, carry out massive reorientation, tackle terrorism with determined security, and make agriculture attractive.”
