Aid for IDPs in Sudan is running short

Aid for the millions of internally displaced people in Sudan is running out.

Nearly three million people have been displaced as a result of the battle between government forces and the paramilitary group RSF, according to the UN.

We need additional assistance, and to be very honest, the aid that used to reach us has stopped. Since the conclusion of the last Ramadan and Eid, we have received nothing but bread. It only arrived once, two days ago, according to Adam Salem, a Sudanese IDP.

In the center of Sudan, a former girls’ school now accommodates close to a thousand refugees.

“In this home (college, Ed.), there are 930 residents, including 136 families with 420 children as well as 23 to 24 pregnant women, 6 of whom have already given birth.

Additionally, there are 20 newborns and approximately 150 common chronic ailments like diabetes, arthritis, and high pressure, according to Mohamed Khaled, a participant in a project to assist Sudanese IDPs.

Three thousand people have died as a result of the violence in Sudan, and the UN has issued a warning about suspected crimes against humanity in Darfur’s western region.

Mohamed Khaled says, “There has been no involvement from foreign organizations, and we do not know whether the barriers are coming from the organizations themselves or from the government, and even the government itself has not participated thus far.

The UK issued penalties on Wednesday against companies it claimed were linked to Sudanese military organizations on both sides of the conflict.
