138 caught violating Covid-19 precautionary measures in Qatar

138 people were reported to the prosecution by the designated authorities for violating the Covid-19 preventive measure.

One person was reported for not having the Ehteraz app installed, while 137 people were reported for not wearing masks.

All residents and citizens must continue to wear masks in closed public spaces as part of the measures, which are in accordance with the Cabinet’s decision to gradually reduce Covid-19 limitations.

Masks are not required to be worn in open public spaces, with the exception of when attending events and visiting marketplaces with scheduled public activities. On the grounds of mosques, schools, universities, and hospitals, masks are also necessary.

According to a statement from the Ministry, “the competent authorities referred several people to the Prosecution for violating COVID19 preventive and precautionary measures in force” in accordance with a cabinet decision based on Law No. 17 of 1990 governing contagious illnesses.

The statement said, “The responsible authorities urge the public to abide by the preventative and precautionary measures in place to safeguard them and others from the spread of the Coronavirus in society.
