Monty Mobile, a fast-growing global telecommunications company that offers innovative technology and communication solutions, joined forces with Huawei, a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, to improve the network of Comium, a Gambian GSM-certified mobile operator, with new products and services.
In January of this year, Monty Mobile officially took over the management and operations of Comium with the goal of changing the way the operator does business and paving the way for 5G networks. Monty Mobile chose The Gambia and the Comium operation because both have the key elements of a successful business model. The Gambia will be Monty Mobile’s entry point into Western Africa.
CEO of Huawei West Africa, Mr. Lionel Liu, said at the time, “We are looking forward to this new long-term collaboration with Monty Mobile, which will be a turning point in updating Comium Gambia’s telecom infrastructure and the start of many upcoming projects in line with their vision to expand their operations across the African market.”
Marwan Khoury, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of Monty Mobile Gambia, added, “Choosing Huawei, the leading global provider of ICT infrastructure, as a strategic partner to Monty Mobile, starting with Comium, is in line with our ICT vision for the African market. Since Gambia is our entry point into Africa, we will make sure that our success there will help us grow in the rest of the region. We will show state-of-the-art commercial services that are tailored to the market and talk about it in a way that is important to the people of The Gambia and the rest of Africa.
This exciting new project is just the start of a big change that will happen in 2023. Monty Mobile wants to be the first company to bring the most cutting-edge technology to the African market.
