The Sex And The City TV show’s leading ladies have expressed their support for two women who have accused their co-star Chris Noth of sexual assault.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis all expressed “deep sadness” at the allegations.

“We stand in solidarity with the women who have come forward and shared their harrowing experiences,” they said in a joint statement.

Mr. Noth, 67, has called the allegations “categorically false.”

The actor, who played Mr Big in the massively popular series – the main love interest for Sarah Jessica Parker’s protagonist – has stated that his encounters with both women were consensual.

However, since the allegations were published in The Hollywood Reporter magazine last week, he has been dropped from several contracts.

Four days after the initial reports, CBS and Universal Television in the United States confirmed that Mr Noth had been fired from his current show, The Equaliser. Last week, fitness brand Peloton removed an advertisement featuring him from its social media pages.

The statement, which was posted on all three actresses’ social media pages, comes just a fortnight after the release of And Just Like That…, a sequel to Sex And The City in which Mr Noth reprised his role as Mr Big.

The women who accused Mr. Noth of sexual assault told The Hollywood Reporter that seeing him on the new show inspired them to come forward.

Under the aliases Zoe and Lily, they provided detailed accounts of the alleged assaults to the magazine.

Zoe, now 40, claims she was 22 years old when the actor allegedly raped her in a West Hollywood apartment in 2004.

Lily, now 31, claims she was raped in his New York City Greenwich Village apartment in 2015, when she was 25 and he was 60.

The detailed article by journalist Kim Masters includes interviews with people such as Zoe’s boss at the time, a rape treatment center, and a friend of Lily, all of whose accounts appear to back up both women’s claims. The article also includes text messages purportedly exchanged between Mr Noth and Lily during the alleged assault.

In a statement to US media, Mr Noth stated, “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, if not decades, ago are categorically false.”

“These stories could have happened 30 years ago or 30 days ago – no always means no – that’s a line I didn’t cross.” The encounters were mutual.”

“It’s difficult not to wonder about the timing of these stories.” I’m not sure why they’re coming to light now, but one thing is certain: I did not assault these women.”

According to Los Angeles Police, the allegations have not resulted in an investigation because no official report has been made to police.

Mr. Noth is well-known for his roles on Law & Order and The Good Wife, in addition to Sex And The City.

Since 2012, he has been married to actress Tara Wilson. They are the parents of two children.
