Arab nations and the OIC strongly condemn the attack on Qatari Embassy in Khartoum

The storming and vandalization of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, has been strongly condemned and denounced by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Arab nations.

In a statement, the General Secretariat of the OIC strongly condemned the act, expressing its concern regarding the recurring targeting of diplomatic buildings. It emphasized the imperative to uphold the sanctity of diplomatic premises, provide them with necessary protection, and adhere to international agreements, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

The attack on the Embassy was also condemned by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, which expressed its solidarity with Qatar and strongly denounced any form of violence and vandalism, particularly when directed towards diplomatic buildings. It emphasized the importance of respecting international law and relevant agreements, specifically the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

Likewise, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) issued a strong condemnation of the storming and vandalism of the Embassy. It stressed the significance of safeguarding diplomatic buildings in accordance with established customs and regulations governing diplomatic work. The UAE Foreign Ministry affirmed its strong condemnation of these criminal acts, which aim to undermine security and stability and violate moral and humanitarian values.

The Yemeni Foreign Ministry also voiced its condemnation, affirming the Republic of Yemen’s solidarity with Qatar and rejecting any acts of violence and sabotage, including the violation of diplomatic missions’ sanctity. It highlighted that such actions contravene international laws and agreements.

To summarize, the storming and vandalization of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Khartoum have garnered strong condemnation from the OIC, Arab countries, and individual nations such as Jordan, the UAE, and Yemen.
